WELCOME!

Our lab studies emerging contaminants across agricultural and human landscapes. We seek to understand contaminant flowpaths, environmental impacts, and mitigation strategies that may reduce the impact of these compounds in the environment. We combine methods used across engineering and social science to address contaminant issues from field, lab and human scales. We seek to be a truly interdisciplinary group through our different backgrounds and new collaborations.

The Georgakakos lab is located at SUNY ESF in Syracuse, New York, USA. SUNY ESF’s Syracuse campus is located in the ancestral lands of the Onondaga Nation, the center of the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. The College’s other campuses are located within the ancestral lands of the larger Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We honor the Confederacy for its many contributions, including the original philosophy and practice of environmental stewardship.
